This funeral monument of Bernabo Visconti was initially located in the San Giovanni in Conca church in Milan, from where it was then transported to be installed in the Sforza Castle Museum in 1900.

The horse and its rider are particularly imposing, following the wishes of the first lord of Milan Bernabo Visconti (1323-1385), since this part of the funeral monument would have been built in 1363, about twenty years before his death.
